Brand License
Renaming rights can be added as a brand specific layer, allowing you to use the typeface under your own name. This means the font ships with a name, and metadata, unique to your brand, so it appears in your design tools and file properties exactly as your own proprietary typeface, not as a licensed product from an outside foundry.
For clients, this creates the impression of a fully custom type system, developed exclusively for them, even though the underlying construction remains part of GD Foundry's library. It's a common arrangement in the type industry, and one that lets brands present a distinctive, ownable voice in their typography without commissioning an entirely bespoke typeface from scratch.
The underlying typeface and its intellectual property remain part of GD Foundry's library at all times. Renaming rights grant a license to present and use the font under an alternate name, they do not transfer ownership, and the original design, its structure, and its IP stay with GD Foundry.
